Online bookstore gives publication information for books, music, and videos, and also includes reviews, bestseller lists, media tie-ins, reading group guides and more.  For libraries without a current copy of Books in Print, this database is a superb resource.
BookWire (http://www.bookwire.com/)
Find news about the book business, and reviews from School Library Journal, Library Journal, Publisher's Weekly, and other sources.  Search for books and other library materials by author, title, or ISBN.
Follett Library Resources (http://www.titlewave.com/)
Distributor of books, video, software, music and related services for libraries.  This site describes the vendor's services available to school libraries, and offers access to TitleWave, the vendor catalog of 85,000 books and CD-ROM titles.
EBSCO Subscription Services (http://www.ebsco.com/home/school.stm)
Website of one of the leading serials vendors for libraries.  Order the Periodicals for Schools catalog online, find serials price projections for the coming year, or enter a discussion forum for reference or serials librarians. 
CLWG: Children's Literature Web Guide (http://www.acs.ucalgary.ca/~dkbrown/index.html)
Valuable collection of Internet resources related to books for children and young adults.  Find links to lists of book awards, author websites, lesson plans for specific children's books, and discussion groups for topics related to children's literature.  Search by keyword.

This website has been created for the librarians in Lafayette Parish School System  by Kim Bergeron, in order to help them more effectively use the Follett automation program.  All handouts and quick tips are for the latest version of the software, unless otherwise indicated.

A monthly annotated bibliography of selected articles, books, and digital documents on information technology.  Keep up with developments in library and information technology without having to read all the literature, and discover journals that address issues of interest to you.  This free publication is a service of the Berkeley Digital Library SunSITE.  Read a few issues from the Monthly Publication archives, and subscribe to the Current Cites mailing list.

Website maintained by Forest Press, publisher of the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).  Read a description of DDC organization, download DDC summaries, read about new and changed entries, and browse the product list, which includes posters and resource kits for teaching.

The Library Corporation produced this extensive website based on MARC manuals and reference works published by the Library of Congress.  Includes USMARC data formats and code lists, subject cataloging manuals, and other reference manuals for descriptive cataloging of  library materials.

Search 12 million records representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, cartographic materials, music, sound recordings, and visual materials, and save results in MARC format.

An excellent collection of print and online resources for school librarians who need to catalog materials.  Annotations, order and/or access information for each entry included.  This page is part of LION: Librarians Information Online Network (also well worth exploring!). 
A Simple Book Repair Manual (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~preserve/repair/repairindex.htm)
Created by the Dartmouth College Library Preservation Services, "this manual discusses guiding principles to book repair, tools, practical guidelines, as well as guiding users through nine common repairs. A nice collection of selected general Internet search engines and directories.  Includes brief descriptions, pros and cons, and links to the FAQ/help/search tips, as well as links to the search engines.  This page is part of the Internet Public Library Reference Center, also worth a visit!
Britannica (http://www.britannica.com/)
Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica compiled this list of "the Web's best sites" using highly selective criteria for inclusion.  Sites are rated using 1-5 stars (noteworthy - best of the web) and searchable by keyword, or by browsing through categories.  This site was named an outstanding reference source by the American Library Association's Reference and User Services Association in 1999.
LibraryLand: Reference (http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/LibraryLand/llref.htm)

UDLib/SEARCH is a University of Delaware Library/State of Delaware partnership to provide access to online magazines, journals, encyclopedias and training to all Delaware public high schools and middle schools.  Accessible from any public school library or classroom, but not from home.

Links to full-text articles of over 1800 general interest, business, health, and children's magazines, as well as ERIC and MEDLINE indexes (EbscoHost).  Also link to current and back issues of five national newspapers (ProQuest Direct).  To access these databases, register for a library card at any Delaware public library.  Sorry, no online registration form is available, but see Delaware Libraries for locations and hours.

This page presents a guide to locating, translating, and using the elements of citation for both a humanities style (i.e., MLA and Chicago) and a scientific style (APA and CBE) for electronically-accessed sources.  Types of sources include websites, gopher, telnet, e-mail, discussion groups, FTP, electronic publications, software and video games.  Handy for writing term paper bibliographies!

"A comprehensive illustrated encyclopedia of web technology, The WDVL is a well-organized goldmine of tutorials, examples, and links to great resources."  WDVL is organized into sections including Authoring, Internet, Location, Multimedia, Web Reference, and Software.
